Crochet Cuteness - Penguin Amigurumi

I go weak in the knees whenever I come across something cute and this one takes the cake anytime. Unfortunately I cannot crochet for the life of me. I can knit (only on straight needles though) but crochet seems complicated to me. So if you know how to crochet, how about taking some time out of your granny square schedule and make Snuggles the Penguin for yourself or for a little person. I will even swap you for it if you have no one to give it to :)

Make your own charging mobile phone holder

Every Tuesday I try to share one of the many crafty tutorials that I find during my online surfing adventures.

This is one of the most ingenious way to recycle and yet useful enough that you will be motivated enough to try almost immediately. I stumbled upon this on tutorial on how to make a holder for your mobile phone while it is being charged. Ashley is such a clever crafty lady in designing this holder that not only looks pretty but is useful too! Do take a peek at her blog Make It and Love It for lots of other fun tutorials.

Removing pills from your clothes

Ok I am sure we all have at least 1 piece of clothing that pills easily. Yes the one you probably wore once or twice because after the first wash, it sort of became a furball. Now you do not have to banish that jumper to the back of your wardrobe forever. Here is a simple and quick way of removing the fluff from The Burlap Bag

Shave those pills off your clothes

No need to spend money on those pill remover tools. A disposable razor that you can easily get from the chemist works just as well. Say bye bye to fluff!

Washi tape for home decor

I do not ... I repeat.. do not need another excuse to buy any more craft supplies. But my, oh my, I found this washi tape craft tutorial on Jessica's blog How About Orange and I am completely bowled over how a simple decorative tape can turn an ordinary kitchen ceramics into something that you see in designer stores. These will probably last until the next wash but hey.. they sure look good when you are setting them out at your next tea party.

Washi tape supplies are widely available on Etsy (make sure you get the authentic Japanese ones to avoid disappointment). Now go forth and decorate your boring milk jug (while I am off to purchase my latest craft stash)!

Tutorial Tuesday - 10 Minute Pencil Roll

Need a gift in a hurry or realised that you have left out a nice little boy or girl from your list? If you are handy with the sewing machine, this handmade goodie is easy to make and perfect for the budding artist. This pencil roll designed by My Poppet will take you 10 minutes to make. Christmas Craft - Goody gumdrops wreath

This is definitely the most creative and delicious wreath ever! Created by Cheryl at A Pretty Cool Life, it is super easy to make and makes your mouth water. Unfortunately due to glue and sealer used in this project, this wreath is not edible. However I am going to buy an extra bag of lollies to eat while admiring the result.

FREE Printable Christmas Gift Tags

Christmas is not far away (yes you don't need another reminder). Last I checked, gift exchanging is still the trend during the holiday season. Besides the gifts, you also need tags so that you know who's getting what.

Found this set of free printable gift tags designed by Sissy Sparrows. Sissy Sparrows are created by twin sisters, Julie and Donna from sunny Queensland.

Really easy tutorial and takes minutes (if you have a working printer and a pair of sharp scissors) to make. Instructions on how to download and make your own tags can be found here.

If you like the design, you may want to check out their other illustrated printable goods available at their Etsy shop or Madeit shop. The sisters have a quirky sense of humour and their artwork are guaranteed to make you laugh.

Tutorial Tuesday on a Wednesday - Upcycled magazine placemats

I know that I have written in one of my earlier posts that I am going to commit to post a tutorial (either created by me or other talented crafters) every single Tuesday. Well I have been slack. Been focussing a lot of energy in my studies and creating new handmade items to stock my online shops. I will get back to the swing of things once my exams are over and I can fully concentrate on building up my blog and brand.

As we know that one of the hottest trends nowadays in the crafting society are "recycling", "upcycle", "eco-conscious", etc. I had to share this really nifty tutorial which I stumbled upon from The Haby Goddess. This tutorial is for how to turn your favourite magazines into placemats. It is simple and materials used were mainly old magazines (finally a way to make good use of my boxes of old magazines in the garage), sewing machine and some clear PVC which you can probably get at a hardware store.
